About
The square named after Monsignor Ivan Prenđa in Zemunik Gornji holds a bronze statue of the Archbishop of Zadar Ivan Prenđa (1939–2010), who was born in the village. The 2.10-metre statue is the work of the Split sculptor Frane Šitum and was cast at the Ujević foundry in Zagreb. The archbishop is shown wearing a mitre and holding his crosier, his right hand on his chest holding his pectoral cross. The base is made of stone from the island of Brač and is carved with his episcopal motto, "Ljubiti Crkvu" (To love the Church). The statue was blessed on 22 January 2022.
